Come join us in beautiful Benedict canyon for a weekend retreat of Insight practice with other women on the path. In this special retreat, we will be exploring some of the teachings and stories from awakened women in various Buddhist traditions, including teachings from Dipa Ma, the book “Dakini Power”, the Therigata (verses of elder Buddhist nuns) and other powerful female teachers, present and past.

Through periods of guided and silent meditation, walking meditation, short Dharma talks and discussion, we will explore for ourselves our connection to the lineage of female practitioners and how these teachings relate to our direct experience here and now, as we carry on these teachings ourselves through meditation practice- freeing ourselves from greed, aversion, and delusion, awakening to wisdom, compassion and living the Dharma.

Participants are encouraged to continue practicing mindfulness in the evening at home, after our Saturday retreat day to strengthen continuity of mindfulness, for a full retreat experience. This retreat will largely be held in the container of silence to deepen our understanding through directly experiencing these teachings.

This retreat is open to all self-identified women with meditation experience.

Saturday May 5th - 10am - 5pm

Sunday May 6th - 10am - 4pm

Please bring a brown bag lunch, as there are no places to eat near the facility. There is a fridge to store your food and a microwave available for heating. You may wish to dress in layers and bring a blanket or shawl for your own comfort. Meditation cushions and chairs are available at the retreat house, or you're welcome to bring your own.
